Here's our presentation. It's super boring. What did you expect.
What We Did
For this project we made 3 instruments. A chime, a string and a wind instrument.
Glockenspiel
The longer the pipe, the longer the sound wave it creates. This is due to the longer length the sound travels along. A longer sound waves creates a lower pitch, which we hear as a deeper note. The shorter the pipe, the shorter the sound wave it creates. A shorter sound wave creates a higher pitch, which our ears interpret as a higher note. Here are the note lengths:
C Note: 10 inches
D Note: 9.428 inches
E Note: 8.944 inches
F Note: 8.66 inches
G Note: 8.165 inches
A Note: 7.746 inches
B Note: 7.303 inches
C Note: 7.071 inches
Bamboo Pan Flute
Much like the Glockenspiel, the longer the pipe, the farther the sound wave travels, but once the sound wave reaches the end of the pipe (since it is a closed end), it bounces back. One it comes back out the top, the sound has a lower pitch, which we hear as a lower note. The shorter the pipe, the higher the pitch, and the higher the note.
C Note: 6 inches D Note: 5.375 inches
E Note: 4.275 inches
F Note: 4.442 inches
G Note: 3.864 inches
A Note: 3.415 inches
B Note: 2.958 inches
Guitar
When the strings of the guitar are held down by your hand it changes the sound wave it will produce. If you make the string shorter it will produce a sound wave that will have a higher frequency and make a higher note. If you make the string longer or don’t hold it down at all, it will produce a sound wave that will have a shorter frequency and make a lower note. The strings transfer their sound waves into the body of the guitar where they create an internal resonance in the air chamber made by the body. This resonance causes the front and back faceplate to vibrate. These vibrations cause the sound that our ear interpret as sound.

Reflection
This project went pretty smoothly. Some good things we did were able to collect all the supplies we needed and complete the assignment even if it wasn't in class. A bad thing we did was we procrastinated in class for most of the time . Another thing we did wrong was we at first just tried to make an instrument that made sound instead of gaining knowledge on how they worked beforehand, which wasted a lot of our time.
